The World Council of Masters , which is a collection of Martial Artists from around this small world of ours. do not award students under the age of 18 year old any grades. That is left to their own instructors.

Under 18 year old students are known as Kohai ( young ) grades. The total time of continuous training from beginner to Black Belt or Degree is a minimum of 48 months regardless of age. A student who completes all of the 9 belts . These can be transferred to the first Black Belt or Degree and then, providing this has been held for a minimum of one year.

These are the requirements set out by the Masters of days of old.
